We were visited tonight by a prominent author of young adult fiction named Chris Crutcher in my Lit for Adolescents class. On the topic of censorship he had this to say:
"Words don't do damage. They're arbitrary."

That sounds like the remark Humpty-Dumpty made in Alice and Wonderland about words meaning whatever he wanted them to mean. And keep in mind, he was an egghead.
